Brandon University’s Steam and Physical Plants are an important part of day-to-day operations on campus. The Steam Plant provides heat for students and staff to work in a comfortable environment, while the Physical Plant provides a space for maintenance, janitorial, trades, and security services.

When the old Steam Plant, located on Pacific Avenue at 20th Street, became obsolete, a new $1.5 million Steam Plant was constructed adjacent to BU in 1990.
After years without a central location, a $3.9 million, 13,600 square-foot Physical Plant opened on April 7, 2010, effectively housing all BU trades and maintenance services under one roof.
